getting adjusted...

~October 22, 2009~

(WARNING: long post and several photos!)

Our first two weeks have been super. Not bad at all. Miss E has been sleeping about 4 to 4 1/2 hours at night.

But sometimes you just have to let it all out...

The breast feeding is going good. I've even done it cooking and typing on this here blog...so if you see lots of type-o's that's why! She has been much more patient about nursing than her brother was. He would try, get upset and then not try any more...just scream! So with him I was forced to pump milk(and even then it wasn't enough)and supplement with formula.
She is such a lazy bones though. I have to wake her up most of the time to eat about every 3 hours during the day. Daddy calls her Sleeping Beauty! She has a pretty calm temperament except when she gets real upset then her skin coloring turns red and the temper sets in. She lets you know about it! It's funny how while feeding her I see her color change from the upset red to the calmer fair coloring.
Daddy is wrapped around her finger and you can tell he is more patient with this baby girl.
Bubba has even shared his FAVORITE green blanket with her several times. If you know him, you know this doesn't happen often! He's going to be a fantastic big brother and protect her always!

Hunt was so cute while visiting Emma in the hospital. He wanted to hold her and touch her. Just over-all love on her. After he got to hold her for a few minutes, he was done and off he would go to play with his army trucks. Then a little while later he was back ready to love on her again. Now at home, I think some of the new has worn off...Hunt is not as interested as much. He still stops and wants to give her love, but not as much. He's so sweet to her and tries to be helpful. Sometimes though he forgets and gets a little rough. Or he just doesn't pay attention. So we have to remind him OFTEN to be careful.
Hunt's behavior has been a little wilder these past few weeks. I know it's a huge adjustment for him. Not being center of attention has taken a bit of a tole on him. He has been getting better since we started back with our normal routine. He missed 3 days of school. One while staying with the grandparents, one due to a Casa Manana play he attended with daddy and the last was because of a dentist appointment.
So now back at school. We even made a trip to the library for story time this Tuesday.

Sunday October 11 Emma finally got to meet grandpa. He couldn't make it to the hospital for a visit so we headed over to grandma and grandpa's house for a little visit.

I whipped up the dress Miss E is wearing that morning. I wanted her to have a new little dress to meet her grandpa.

The Keller Early Childhood PTA group has been great. Three times a week we are brought a meal by one of the members. It's nice to have a few nights a week where I don't have to think about fixing a dinner. Thanks ladies for helping us out!!!

This past weekend Kelley came over and we hit a few stores. Then it was back home to feed Miss E and make our Halloween lantern jars. They turned out kind of cute and Hunt really enjoyed this craft.

They ended up in the kitchen window.

Here's what they looked like at night...you can't really see the colors.

Here's a photo of mama Hunt took.

Later that evening, after dinner, we sat down to a movie and caramel apples...YUMMY!!! I wanted to make them homemade, but decided that i really didn't want to create another mess, so I bought them. They were still very tasty!!! These were Hunt's first caramel apples. He loves the apples at Mc Donalds with caramel, but these not as much. He may have still been full from dinner.

This Monday we got the baby swing out to see how Miss E would like it. And she loved it of course! Don't all babies though?!

Yesterday the four of us(still seems strange to say four!)ran to the store to get Hunt some new cowboy boots. The ones he wore last year rubbed blisters the last wearing so he needed new ones. We chose some brown bottom ones with blue tops. He loved them! He had to wear them to school Wednesday to show his friends.

Yesterday I made Miss E a Halloween pumpkin onesie and Hunt used paint to make a Halloween spider shirt. They both turned out SO cute!

The spider is a pin I made that can be taken off and moved around the web or for washing.
For some reason I didn't get a seperate photo of Miss E's onesie. You can see it below with her outfit.

I ordered these audio books the other day for Hunt. The price was super and the books were good ones. I purchased an audio book from Barnes and Nobel a little while back and he liked it so I'm sure these will be a hit to.
There are 12 books with audio cds for like $25.00 (plus shipping of course)!!!

We had plans to go to the Pumpkin Patch in Flowermound with grandma, aunt Misty and the cousins today, but with this rain...it was a no go! I do plan on taking them before Halloween gets here.
Here's the kiddos outfits that I planned for them to wear...

Hunt will be wearing his spider web shirt under the sweater, providing the weather and temperature will be ok for it. And his new boots of course!

I made the little pumpkin pin and put it on her sweater, as well as the head band bow.
Here's Miss E trying on her bow...I know it's big on her, but still cute!

Also this past weekend Hunt decorated our glass front door with Halloween window clings.

Weeeellll, that will wrap it up for today...
