a weekly update...

Yay, Friday is here again!

And it seems that I can only manage to update my blog once a week these days...

We still haven't been doing much around here. Blame it on a pregnant, fat, lazy mama! Today we ventured outdoors for some playtime. Hunt needed some time to run off some stink and swing and play with sidewalk chalk and trucks and of course bugs! He was all too excited when he picked up a piece of tree bark and exclaimed..."This is GREAT! Look mama at all the bugs"! he came running over to me to show off his new find. And he was right it had doodle bugs of all sizes along with one lonely snail. Such cool-ness to a 4 year old little boy!

And don't kids say the funniest things sometimes?! Today along with our meal of baked chicken, stuffing, gravy and carrots I decided we needed some brownies...ok, well mama needed some brownies(don't tell my Endocrinologist). I sat Hunt down with one this evening and he said..."But mama, there's brownie seeds in here!". I was like...what???? Then I remembered that the brownies had walnuts inside. "No Hunt, those are nuts in there". "Oh" he says. Silly, silly, silly! And honestly I don't recall ever making brownies for us before...this was his first. Well he liked it and I'm sure he'll be asking for more!

Monday I had to go to the lab and get blood drawn for lab work for the Endocrinologist. Not sure I want to hear any results. Hope all is good.

Tuesday I had to pick up some lip stuff from a mama in the KECPTA group. Hunt and I ran by her house and stayed for a bit. We talked and the boys played. It was nice to have a little mama time with an adult.

Wednesday Hunt and I HAD to make a trip to Target. Is it just me or can you go in there and spend WAY too much without planning on it? Geez! Such good stuff!
It's funny because these days, whenever we go to a store hubs is always sure to tell Hunt...We're NOT buying any toys! Well as I was helping Hunt out of the truck he stated to me..."Mamam, daddy's not here to say we're not buying any toys!"...what a toot! Like I cave in every time! Please! Not every time, just sometimes! I know...I'm not a very good mama for doing that!

Sunday we meet Kelley and Ken and did some running around with them and finished the day off with dinner at Hard Eight bbq. So very very good!
We made a stop by Barnes and Nobel and I purchased a few magazines and some books. I came home with I Love Dirtand Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day. I've been wanting these books for a while now, so i splurged and got them. So that's 2 knocked off my book list! The I Love Dirt book gives examples of activities and outdoor teaching/learning. A book to get you outdoors and enjoy nature and the world around you. To help you notice things and play games that give you and your child a different edge on life. I've heard that it's a good one to have, so it's added to our ever growing book collection. The other book, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, is full of bread and dough recipes that can be put together in 5 minutes...YAY for that!!! I have 2 recipes for bread that I really love and use regularly. I read that this book has some of the easiest and best recipes for different types of breads out there. Again...don't tell my Endocrinologist! I've scanned through the book rather fast, but spotted several I'm ready to try. Now if I can just not fell guilty about that bread board I want on EBAY...it would be nice to have it to help out with the kneading(ahem)...
I also bought Hunt a book titled...What to Expect When Mommy's Having a Baby . It tells a little about the entire pregnancy from the growing belly to delivery. And a little more. Some of it I wasn't sure I wanted Hunt to hear yet, so I bypassed those parts. But all and all a cute book. There are 2 more I want to get to. One for when I'm in the hospital, after delivery. If I remember right it's called something like...I'm a Big Brother Now. But don't quote me on that.
Thanks to my friend Inez for suggesting me gets some books for Hunt about the new member coming to our family!

Saturday the three of us took a little trip to Corsicana to Gander Mountain. It's a sporting good store. Hunt and Hubs liked it, me..it was ok. But we did drive a little around the corner to the Russel Stover candy factory outlet. Bad decision! Again...shhhh...Endocrinologist may not want to hear this. So we were there and I had to purchase something...right?! But I was kinda good and didn't get a lot.

::PREGNANCY NEWS::
28 weeks now...sorry no new photo.
Tomorrow I go to the OB for check up and sonogram. I'll be going every two weeks now for them. Kind of a hassle, but yay for new Emma pictures! Please Lord let it still be a little girl! If not, this little baby boy will look awful cute in these dresses and hair bows that I've been making!
I go the Endocrinologist Monday. Not looking forward to that at all.
Hunt has been talking and singing to Emma. It's so very sweet! He says..."hey Emma can you hear me, are you in there?" I'm so so excited to have Hunt and Emma meet. What a special time it will be! I'm so blessed! He's going to be a super Big Brother!

I've been busy sewing more stuff so I'll have to post photos of those maybe next round...

placing the blame...

Just a couple of things to chat about today...

For lunch Hunt and I meet my best friend Stephanie for lunch. We had a nice meal and caught up a bit on some things. I really miss working with her and getting to see her everyday and laughing and talking like we use to do. Afterwards Hunt and I stopped and got a few more colors of ribbon for bows...I know...what the heck! As I said before, you can never have too many, can you??? Besides we didn't have the colors that I bought...so there!

Yesterday, and earlier this week we didn't do anything exciting. Just stayed home, played some BINGO and watched a few movies. Yesterday we did venture outside in the am for a while. Hunt was begging me to go outside so we went for just a while. Played with trucks, bugs and did some swinging.

One funny thing.....
We have been leaving Hunt's bedroom fan on during the day and night, just to keep it cooler. Well today when we got back from lunch and such it was nap time. Hunt and I went in his room and I noticed the fan was off. So I asked Hunt...why is your fan off? To which he stated...with a giggle...I don't know, maybe Emma did it!
Now is that too sad or what? Little sister isn't even here yet and she's already getting blamed for things!!!...

let us catch up some...

Ok, here we go...

Last Tuesday Hunt and I meet Kelley and some moms and kiddos from the group at Log Cabin Village in Fort Worth. I had never been before. It's not what you would consider one of the major attractions around. It was a nice time. We all wondered through the old log homes, all of which are from Parker and Tarrant County. There was also a school house and blacksmith shop to. The favorite spot was the "hands on" home and chicken coop. This entire house and all the old contents were there for you to touch, play with, put on, etc. The kiddos LOVED the small play chicken coop outside...complete with fake hens and eggs. There were baskets and pails for the children to gather the eggs. It made me want to make one for our backyard for the kids to play with.
Here's a collection of photos I took of the day...

Hunt saw a metal cannon pencil sharpener and had to have it! And I saw a wooden log home set that looked like it wanted to come home with us.
Hunt and I enjoyed putting it together and playing with it that evening...

Also this past week... I cut up and froze some of the peaches I purchased in Weatherford last weekend. In hopes of course to making a peach cobbler or peach ice cream soon. And I've been working with Hunt on book 1, 2 and 3 of Hooked on Phonics reading. He's doing really well and I've created a few learning exercises so he can have some practice.

::PREGNANCY NEWS::
Thursday was my OB visit. My blood pressure was good and the babies heart beat was fine. I left them my dreaded 24 hour urine collection jug! Such fun-ness! I go back every 2 weeks now for a check up and sonograms. Kind of a pain, but hey...more photos of baby Emma!!!
Also, I've had a few people ask about this necklace I've been wearing...

It's called a Mexican Bola chime necklace. It's a silver ball with a chime inside. The ball chimes when it moves...supposedly the baby can hear the chime sound and be soothed. And I'm not sure how many mom's do this, but I've been playing my cd's for baby Emma at night just like I did for Hunt when he was in the womb. I have 2 cd's that I switch out every couple of weeks or so. One is called "Mozart for Mommies(or mother's)" and the other is a cd called BebeSounds "The Mozart Collection". It came with the BebeSounds prenatal heart listener set. We have 2 sets of ear phones and a set of small speakers that you set on your tummy so that the babe can hear the music playing. I remember when Hunt was a newborn from a week old and older we would put the cd in the stereo and he would quickly get quiet and still and look around as if listening to this familiar sound. It was really neat.

I go next week to get some lab work done for the Endocrinologist and see him the following week. My blood sugar has been fine. There has been a couple of times it was a little higher than it should be, but I think it was due to me having to have a few needed treats! Like some sweets and a Dr Pepper. I mean I can't totally cut them out!

27 weeks

I signed Hunt up for a siblings class at the hospital that I will deliver at. It should be interesting. The class will be Aug. 15 at 10am. They will also give a tour of the women's delivery area of the hospital.

And will somebody please stop my insanity! I learned how to make some hair bows and I'm up to over 20 now. It's very addicting! The kiddo isn't even here yet and who know how old she will be before she can even wear them. I did see a way to attach different bows to headbands, so she's covered!!! Interchangeable bows on a headband...who needs hair! Here is a pic. of some I've made...

Also I finished up 2 little dresses last week...

I purchased the pdf pattern and couldn't wait to give them a try. The beige one is about 3 months and the other is about 6-9 months. Such sweetness!. They remind me of simple little peasant/country dresses.

Sunday we went swimming at Kelley's house. It was a nice time and it wasn't too horribly hot outside. Daddy and Ken didn't join us outdoors, so it was just Hunt, Kelley and I. Still a nice and fun time. Afterwards we went to a nice dinner and enjoyed the rain coming down.

Yesterday a lady at hub's work gave him a baby gift for Emma! Look how sweet it is...the zebra bag was enough to know that what ever was inside was going to be too cute!...

That was so very sweet of her! Thanks Becky!

And if you want to either get sick or have a good laugh like I did the other night, check out the link/video below on MSN. Keep watching for the guy "Caffeine Bean"...and his tight blue shorts...around 1:33 and 1:41 JUST TOO WRONG!!!! I was laughing so hard!!!

Well sorry so long on this one. I've been having issues with uploading photos and my energy level has been way down to...

where is the time going?...

Can you actually believe July 4th has come and gone ALREADY!

Where is this summer going?

Let's do some catching up...shall we, yes......

This past weekend the three(errr four technically) of us drove out to Weatherford to check out the farmers market and into a little goodie store called Gibson's. Not knowing that the Parker County Peach Festival was in full swing. We might have gone and strolled through the festival if it had not have been for the 100 and something weather! It was just too hot and I am just too pregnant!!! So it was a little crowded at the market, but luckily we found a close place to park.
We picked up some of these...

(peaches of course)

And these and these...

(tomatoes and apples)
I saw a whole lot more I wanted, but I restrained myself.
Afterwards we headed to Gibson's. I wanted to go there and check out their fabric and sewing/craft section. The last time I went I noticed that they had some fabric that I can't get closer to home. I picked out a western print(for Hunter's quilt I'll be working on) and some soft colors for Emma some goodies. I'm thinking some ruffled bumm pants...I saw a sweet little instruction/pattern for some on youcanmakethis.com( a site where you can purchased patterns and instructions for all kinds of things). Here is a photo of the goodies I picked out...

(Oh and the rainbow ribbon to...little girls like rainbows...)
I wish now I had grabbed more fabric, but oh well...maybe next trip.
The grandparents arrived back from their month trip, so Sunday we celebrated hub's father's birthday. It isn't until this week, but it's easier to get everyone together on a weekend. We ate at Bellisimo, an Italian restaurant. The food there is pretty good.

And July 3-6, was spent at the lake with friends.
We arrived at the lake Friday morning ready to spend a long and relaxing weekend with friends having fun.
Troy, Miste and little Kash even joined us for the weekend. Along with all the usuals that are there and Kelley's sister and family to. It was kinda busy and crowded, but still alot of fun! I think fun was had by all!
July 4th/Independence Day was celebrated with swimming, boating, burgers and dogs and lots of fireworks! The weather started to get a little hairy as the fireworks show was underway so it was cut a tad short. The wind picked up and caused some fuses to go out. It wasn't too bad and what can you do about the weather anyway?! We had a great time none the less. The next morning, Sunday we shot off some of Hunt's car/train/boat/ motorcycle/ etc, etc, etc...fireworks. He LOVED them and wasn't as afraid as he has been in the past. Then that evening we shot off the rest of the large ones that we didn't get a chance to do Saturday night.

Hunt enjoyed boating, playing with water guns, swimming, playing croquet, playing bingo and riding his 4 wheeler(alone and with daddy riding along side on his).

Oh and I finally found my sewing machine book! YAY! Now I can finish up the reversible dress I'm making Emma. Hip-hip-hooray!

I whipped up these appliqued onesies...

And for the 4th of July I made Hunt this star shirt...

And finished up one pair of pjs for Hunt as well...

And thanks to finding my sewing book, I finished this little reversible dress...you guys are probably getting tired of seeing this fabric...huh?

The monogrammed initials are iron on due to the fact that I don't have a monogram machine...boo hoo! Still cute I think!!!

PREGNANCY News::
Little Emma is a real mover! Man that little toot moves all the time. Hubs seems to think that she will be a "ring tail tooter"(as he puts it). Oh man...we may be in for some trouble!!!
The indigestions is still here...almost nightly! No fun at all!!! Thank goodness the Tums is taking care of it though. I just pop two each night usually between 10:30 and 12:00. That's when it catches up to me.
So I'm 26 Weeks now. I tried to get a few photos, but they aren't that great...
25 weeks...

26 weeks...

(my belly finally sticks out further than my boobs!...and I realize it's not the most flattering photo to)

I think that about does it for catching up for the past couple of weeks...

Back with you soon...I hope...

just wednesday...

So today I have the Endocrinologist appointment...ugh!!!
I'd rather not go, but I know I must. Thank goodness for my cousin LeighAnn. She's been watching Hunt alot and I'm so grateful!!!! I owe her Big Time!!!

We haven't done anything this week. I've been doing laundry of course and some cleaning. And I've been doing more sewing. I've made a reversible dress for Emma, but it's not complete yet. I still can't find my sewing machine book. And I can't remember how to do proper button holes. I guess maybe I can go online to the maker and see if their site has instructions on it. I've also made some burp cloths(working on more) and am working on Hunt's 4th of July shirt and a set of pj's. I made Emma her first bracelet and Hunt made his own. Below are a few photos of our crafty-ness...

I appliqued the letter E and the other apple/pear material on the diapers.
Emma's bracelet is of crystal beads and letter beads. I'm thinking of adding a couple of silver beads to it, so it may change a bit from this photo.
I'll post a photo of the dress I made when I get it complete.

Have a Super Day!!!
