someone in our home graduated and I'm still slowly plowing through our vaca days...

~May 24, 2010~

I'm doing our vacation re-cap STILL! Blogger tends to be slow at uploading my photos...is it just me or does it happen to everyone??!!!
We've got 3 more full days to cover and then it will be complete!!! Woo Hoo!

VACATION-Wednesday April 28::Day 4

Wednesday was another "free" day(as hubs likes to call it). Kelley and I use our "free" days to go down to the beach of course! It was Kelley's Birthday so we gave her her Birthday goodies. We got her a Barnes and Noble GC, a ceramic tea holder with teas, an initial coozie and Hunt helped daddy make her a bookmark...she loves to read! It was also cousin R's Birthday to! Happy Birthday Cousin R and Kelley!!!
The beach was so nice! Hunt enjoyed building some sand castles and just running around acting crazy! Very rare can he just run and run without mama yelling to slow down or stop! We also took the kite that Grandma gave him for Easter down with us. Hunt loved running around with it too! I spent alot of time with Em in our little beach tent thingy. It kept her out of the sun and wind and I was even able to feed her some milky without anyone seeing me! YAY for that! She took her a little nap while we were out there to.
{Who's ready for the beach?}

{that's our condo in the background}

Attempt at a brother and sister photo...
{wow...someone needs a nap!}

{just woke up and doesn't look very happy to see the camera in her face!}

We were SO VERY surprised on the beach when Daddy and Kenny pulled up in a little rented golf cart!

WOW!!!! HOW FUN!!! Hunt was SOOOO excited!!! So we loaded up all our beach gear and ran it back to the hotel before heading to Port A Pizzaria for lunch.

When our bellies were stuffed full we hopped back in the cart and drove around the town some and up and down the beach before we had to take it back :(
It was such a nice surprise and a lot of fun to ride in! Thanks Daddy and Kenny!!!

For dinner we went to Moby Dicks again! They always have good food and a good variety for everyone! What a Fun day!!!

And now for the current stuff...Friday was Hunt's graduation from pre-school!

It was the cutest thing EVER! The kids went into the classroom and the parents and other guests headed to the gym where the graduation was taking place.

After a short time the graduation song was playing and our babies were entering the gym, with their teachers, all in a row, wearing little caps and gowns!!!!!

I almost cried!!! But I was too busy, worried about getting a good picture that I held the tears...HAHAHA!!! They were all just smiling and looked so proud!
Before they took their seats, they said the Pledge of Allegance!
Soon each of their names were called and a diploma given! Just like at a high school graduation...so formal! Hunt's name was first. I guess they didn't get the diplomas in alphabetical order before hand.

After that our Mayor spoke, asking them if any one knew what FAMILY meant?
The Mayor broke down what he was told years ago...
F-Father
A-and
M-Mother
I-I
L-Love
Y-You
After the Mayor's speech and a speech from Hunt's teacher Mrs. Rebeca the kids stood...took off their caps...and up into the air they threw them!!!

SO ADORABLE!!!
We got to keep the tassels, but had to give the caps and gowns back.
Then we headed across the hall to a room where there was Chik-fil-A nuggets and sandwiches along with fruit and a yummy cake!

And YAY...sweet tea!!! We only had some cake because we had plans to go eat after the ceremony.
Hunt's friend W passed out a yarn lei and a candy lei to all the kids!!! They were so sweet and a cute touch! W's family is from Hawaii, so it was a nice treat!

Each kid also got a stuffed dog and some beach toys from the teachers as a good-bye gift. Thank you so much Mrs. Rebeca and Ms. Preslie for a good year! Hunt will miss you!!! I also want to say Thank You for your patience with my little man. I know he can be a stinker at times, but he really is the sweetest little boy EVER!!!

Here are the gifts we gave the teachers. Hunt wrote each teacher a short letter and we gave them a jar of our homemade applesauce and a jazzed up hand sanitizer!

Hunt got a couple of graduation gifts from us and grandma!

GOOD JOB BUBBA...WE LOVE YOU!!!!
A few more pics from Friday...

Well we didn't get to go spend the weekend at the lake house. There has been too much rain and it was flooded to the street. Nor did we get to do the Keller Family Campout. I wanted to do both...or either. But we didn't find out about the lake until after the registration deadline for the campout....shucks!!!
Saturday we did go pick up the boat at Eagle Marina with Kelley and Ken. So now it's summerized and ready to be taken to the lake house. We enjoyed some snowcones and later had dinner at Los Vaqueros.

Sunday we all made a trip out to the deer lease with Uncle David and our friend Gravitt.

{oh..hey honey}

{playing in the dirt...boys will be boys!}

I dressed Miss Em in her pink camo onesie that daddy bought her from the Hunter's Extravaganza a while back. She wore her denim shorts, pink knitted hat with a pink camo bow and pink crocs. It was a bit warm and the mosquitos were horrible...and huge!!!! So sister and I spent a lot of the time in the Tahoe! Afterwards we drove out to Bowie and ate lunch at the Armadillo Grill and then drove over to the lake house to check everything out. The water had gone down out of the road, but was still in the yard and over the dock some. You couldn't even see the boat ramp. But if it keeps staying hot and not raining the water will be down in no time!

We didn't do anything today but stay home and relax...and a bit if cleaning Hunt's room! UGH!!! Tomorrow we may hit story time at the library, not sure yet. And Wednesday we go to Rocky Top Ranch for some horseback riding(Hunt not Em or I) and a hayride! We've been twice before and Hunt LOVES it SO MUCH!!!!

Oh...has anyone out there read or heard of the Pioneer Woman and her cookbook(Pioneer Woman Cooks)?
Well...I read her blog and got her cookbook! She is pretty funny and cooks some AWESOME food! Food that reminds you of home! She lives on a cattle ranch in Oklahoma with 4 kids, a husband(Marlboro Man) and other ranch workers. You really need to read her site! And I even heard that they will be making a movie of her life! WOW!!!
I've went through her cookbook and have decided that I want to try EACH of her recipes!!! Is that crazy or what?!! They ALL sound so GOOD!!! Just saying...

Have a good week...
