VACATION-Friday April 30::Day 6

Today was our 16th Wedding Anniversary!!! Happy Anniversary Honey!!!
We had another fun day at the beach! Of course Hubs and Ken did not go with us so this time I left Em with Daddy in the room(she needed a nap anyway). Hunt had a super fun time riding the waves on his body board(he did really good a few times)and building a few more sand castles! We gathered more shells and just enjoyed being outside! It was VERY windy though!...which helped out the waves Hunt was riding on. I didn't get alot of pictures because I was out in the water helping him, but Kelley did snap a couple for me. Hunt was having a blast and just laughing! He would laugh whether he rode the wave in to the beach or if he fell! The first time we took the board out I just pulled him through the water on it a bit, but this time he rode it. He liked trying to sit on it rather than lay.

{wow this mama really needs to lose weight...yuck!(I almost didn't post the photos with me in them)}
After our beach fun we came back to the hotel and bathed trying to make sure all the sand was out of our eyes and off our body...the wind was horrid!
Then we decided to drive into Corpus to go to a few malls. We spent a little while there just browsing. We left and was heading to Los Comales for dinner again when Miss Em decided to let us all hear her lungs! Man was she unhappy! She was getting hungry and tired and had just about had enough! And so had we!HA! We arrived at the restaurant and she got some food in her tummy and was good to go! Thank goodness!AND...Thank goodness for Los Comales margaritas...we all had one, even the kids(kidding, they had pina coladas)...hahaha!JK!

Recent News....
Wednesday Hunt helped me bake some blackberry cobbler from a recipe out of Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook. It was real simple! Only a few ingredients and it was delicious!!! We used some of our fresh picked blackberries from the farm. I'm trying peaches in it next! It can't be bad!!!
Here are the photos...
{let's bake shall we...excuse the dirty table cloth, lunch was a messy ordeal}

I also made Marlboro Man's sandwich and onion strings Wednesday for lunch...ummm ummm good! And Tuesday I whipped up a recipe for the homemade pancakes...yummm-O!!! Today was Pw's chicken spaghetti...DELISH!!! I knew I would love all her recipes!!!

There are things in our lives that happen that we are unable to explain. Things that can only be thought of as a miracle or divine intervention. Things that you know deep down in your heart are provided to us through a higher order. Angels all around showing us at times that they are here and watching over us all! Angels that may be someone you didn't know, or someones you knew...
While we were on vacation we heard news that a co-worker of hubs wife had passed away. She had been sick for a long while, battling cancer that just kept spreading. She tried new medications and fought hard through her illness. Hopes were always high and she tried everything, just to stay a little longer with her husband and their three sons. When she passed, we got the news from another co-worker of hubs. She had been keeping the boys for them the last couple of days because the mom was getting sick again and had to make another trip to the hospital. In fact, when she called us, the boys did not even know yet that they would never see their mother alive again. She felt it best to let their father be the one to tell them.
Anyway the funeral took place and they tried to go back to a somewhat normal life. A little while after, a tree was bought in remembrance of his wife. Given to the family by the co-workers of the husband, where my husband works. On the day that the family decided to plant the tree, honoring the wife, the mother, the daughter, the friend...some friends and family gathered at their house. As they planted the tree one of their sons noticed a bird that landed on the tree. The bird stayed on the tree for some time and everyone thought that after a bit that it would fly away. But it didn't. It stayed around. Letting the sons hold it, landing on family members heads and friends to. Having a little visit with each one. We were told that it stayed there the entire time they were planting the tree. Somewhere around 4-6 hours.
At the time the family did not think anything of it. Only thinking it was strange that a bird would hang around there so long. Letting everyone enjoy it, holding it and letting it sit on them.
When I heard about the tree planting and the bird, I knew that this little bird was there as a reminder that she is still with them. That she will always be there, for them, watching over her boys, her husband and her friends and family.

oh...by the way...Someone posted a comment anonymous yesterday, but not sure who it was...Thanks to whom ever left it! Maybe you... Kelley???
