some craftyness...

~September 6, 2012~
#2

As some of you may know I LOVE to do crafts!  I love sewing, scrapbooking, knitting...you name it, I'm sure I've done it.  I enjoy making things for my kiddos and love to see their expressions when they get a new homemade gift from Mama!
Recently I made some stuff for Hunt and school.

I made 2 more sets of  re-usable sandwich wraps and snack baggies.  One looks like chalkboard alphabet and the other has guitars, and a some-what camo coloring. My sets usually consist of a sandwich wrap and 3 snack bag sizes.  Sometimes I actually think ahead and get enough fabric to make a napkin to! Go me! Usually not though! (boo) The baggies have Velcro at the top to keep them closed. The instructions for these little darlings were purchased from etsy I believe.
Here are sets from the previous 2 years.  Fire trucks, cowboys and orange space. These sets save me from using SO many plastic bags, as Hunt usually wants to take his lunch rather than buy it.
Here is a school box I made this year for my little man.  I purchased an unfinished wood box then decoupages scrapbook paper and stencil cut out letters.  Easy and so very sweet!
It holds all of Hunt's supplies and fits great in his school desk! Sure we could have bought the regular plastic box, but why not make a cute one instead.  Plus you can pick out the paper to use on it...making it ANY theme you like. Look how cute it is!!!
In this photo I layed out the gifts that we took to meet the teacher night at Hunt's school. He gave Mrs. Collins a pencil pointer, a lesson plan book and I decorated a sanitizer bottle.  Love these decorated sani bottles!  Who can't use these?!
I was elected to be a PTA officer this year.  Yep...me...Foster Village PTA 1st Vice President.  I was reluctant to become an officer, but was talked into it by Hunt's Kindergarten and First Grade teachers.  I decided that I needed a pretty shirt...so I made me one!  I could have done better on the letters P T A, so I may give another one a try in the future.
Along with the school box, I made Hunt a lunch box to.  I used the same methods as the school box, except on the inside lid I painted chalk paint so I can write my sweet boy a message.  He loves it and easy to do!!!
Inside of the box.  I left it natural.

I have a few more things to post that were made recently to.  I'll get to those another time.

Nighty~Night!

First Day of 2nd Grade...part 2...

~September 6, 2012~

Ok, so here we are on Thursday! I'm going to try to post the other first day of school photos.  This has been such a pain in the bo-hine!

I snapped a few photos of Hunt and Em walking to Hunt's school.
Hunt is carrying a jar of buttery caramel sauce and an apple for the teacher.  I little goodie for her first day! The buttery caramel sauce is SO DELISH!

Little sister wanted to wear her rainboots! Ok, whatever! Not worth the fight! HA! Em is carrying a basket with gold fish crackers in baggies. I added a tag to each bag that read, " We are O-FISH-ALLY in Second Grade". Who doesn't like goldfish crackers?!
A busy first day of school with all the parents bringing in their kiddos!
Hunt found his room and Mrs. Collins. She looks excited to see him in this photo! Ha...when she finds out that he has issues at times with his behavior and listening that smile may turn up-side-down.
He remembered where his desk was!
Getting kisses from sister! Have a good day Bubba! Love you!
At his desk ready to work!  Have a fun day Bubba! See you later!

Here's Hunt holding the teacher gift.  Yummy buttery caramel sauce and a delicious apple!  This sauce so so good.  I found it on a site I think was called howdoesshe.com.
It's great for dipping apple slices in and to drizzle on cakes or other sweets.
We made an apple tag and Hunt signed the inside.

Here's a photo of the goldfish crackers...cute classmate treat snacks!

Gotta go fix my girl some lunch.  I hope to be back posting more photos and such soon!

Darn it! This posted and I was not finished...not sure why?  I need to figure out this new blogger stuff! UGHHHH! GRRRRRR!!!

~August 29, 2012~

Happy Wednesday!

Hunt started school this Monday. My Big 2nd Grader! Here are a few photos I took of his first day of school!
He had a good day! There are a few friends in his class this year that were in his first grade and kindergarten classes...that always helps on the first day huh?!
Emma and I missed him!  I was certain that she was going to be driving me crazy asking..."where's Bubba?", but nope.  She asked twice and that was it. The house was much quieter than the past couple of months...HA! But they made up for that when Hunt got home!

I made Hunt the lunch box he is holding.  He picked out the paper and decided on the paint and letter colors.  It turned out so cute.  I see one for Emma in the future!

Last Thursday we had meet the teacher night. Hunter met his teacher, Mrs. Collins! She seems sweet and I heard from his teacher last year that she is a good one. Yay for 2nd Grade!

Also, yesterday my uncle had heart surgery. He is having a very rough time and it wasn't looking good for him this past evening. Any prayers for my uncle and my family will be more than welcome! The news this morning is that he remained stable through the night and is a tiny bit better! Thank you Lord!

testing my signature..... post signature

January is 7...

~August 19, 2012~ GOOD GRACIOUS!!!! ...was I ever shocked to see that the last post I sent on this almost non-existatnt blog was back in January! January people!!! What is that...like 7 months ago?! We have done SO much since then! I am going to try to figure out this photo issue I had back then. This was the main reason I had stopped posting to our family blog diary in the first place!
It did let me add this photo...silly me... So we will see if I can keep it going in the future. We are in "gettting Hunt ready for Back To School" mode around our house. He'll be a second grader this year!!! SECOND GRADER!!!! I swear the summer has flown by and is gone already! We did some fun things, not as many as I had hoped to do though, but still a fun summer non-the-less. Well I'm gonna end this post for now until I get some photos ready to upload. Let's hope it will come through ok. Holler at ya'll later!

day number 8 of 2012...

~January 8, 2012~

Into day number 8 of the new year and how is everyone doing?

Our happy little family is doing pretty good! Not counting a recent trip to the ER. Miss Em's elbow got out of line again{this makes #3} Monday evening. We waited for around 2 1/2 hours and finally got to see a DR. By then it had worked it's self back in line. All I can say is having a child with a nursemaid elbow is no fun! You know how 2 year olds are running around and pulling away and very active. We are always having to be extra cautious with her arms.

On top of that this past week I apparently used up all my free photo space on this here blogger! So now I must pay to have more photos added to my blog through Picasaweb! UGH! This really stinks! Not sure when or if I'm going to pay this big whopping fee...starting at $5, not sure what to do really. Wish I new more about blogging... Ho Hum...what to do? What to do!!!

Saturday we went to the Safari Show in Dallas. The kids and hubby loved it!!! We went with some of hub's co-workers and his hunting buddy. It was a real nice time and the kids were great!

More great news. Hunt was on very good behavior this week a school! Which if you know him or us, you know this isn't always easy for him. Way to go Bubba! He earned a pre-historic animal and caveman set that I've had for months...waiting for a week where he was on super great behavior!

Maybe a few of you have seen all the felt food and goodies that people are making for kids to play with. I love them I tell you! So...I decided to make Em a stuffed turkey.

It turned out pretty cute. The wings and legs are detachable with velcro. I got this idea from my friend Michelle, but I added the wings to mine. She will love cooking it in the kitchen she got from Santa.

Until next time...

....Happy New Years!...

~January 1, 2012~

Happy 2012 everyone!

It's a new year and a time for some new beginnings, or maybe just some finally getting finishes. Maybe some things we've needed to finish for a long while or things we decided we now needed to start. At any rate...luck to y'all during this 2012 year!

One of my things to do/keep up with is our family blog diary here! I can easily say I'm so far behind it's ridiculous! And I know I've said it before, but I am going to try my HARDEST to make an entry at least once a week!!!

So with that said...here are some photos of the kids ringing in the new year.

We ate some lobster, had some chips and dips(my homemade guacamole...yummm!) and I made some chicken, jalapeno and cheese wrapped with bacon. The lobster was pre-steamed all I had to do was heat steam it in a pot and it was ready to go! And it was yummy to...and super easy!!!
Hubs had to work on the 1st, so he went to bed early and didn't make it to 12:00! Before he retired to bed he did play some XBOX games with Hunt and Em! They had a blast!

Hunt and Em had a sprinkle confetti ice cream cone! They hated it!....HAHAHA!...you know that wasn't true!!!

After putting our PJs on...
I enjoyed some rose champagne...

It was the best I had ever had! I will buy this again next year for sure!

The kiddos tried some sparkling grape juice...

I even put it in some cute little plastic glasses.

Em was not a fan, Hunt said it was OK.

This morning I made myself a mimosa with some of my left over champagne...pretty good stuff!

Again....HAPPY NEW YEAR...Hope it's your BEST one yet!!!.....
