almost that time...

Well, one more day until we leave for vacation...whooo-hooo!!! Checking the weather though...it looks pretty much rainy most of next week down there. Figures...on well, at least we will be away from home and everyday life for a little while. And bad weather doesn't effect eating like a pig...which we seem to ALWAYS do when we go to the coast anyway. My belly has been waiting for lick smacking, tummy tickling, stomach stuffin, fresh seafood.
I was busy today with errands...3 stores, library, cleaners, book store so Hunt missed playgroup. He was kind of cranky when he woke up anyway. I don't think too many attended today's anyway.

So I've still been asking Hunt what he wants to be for Halloween. I want to get a definite answer before I start to make the costume since October is here now and the count down begins. He's still been saying a clown. I told him that he has to wear the red nose and big clown shoes. He told me that he didn't want to. But then last night we were talking about the WALL-E movie and I was talking about robots. Then he says he wants to be a robot. So I was like awesome...I can come up with cool stuff and be more creative with that idea more than the clown. But then today I asked him if he was going to be a robot and he was like...I don't know. Man...I wish he would make up his little mind. I know...I'm anal!!! I love making and designing costumes among other things. We'll see how everything turns out. I'll give him until middle of Oct. and then start making whatever it is he decides. I enjoy making costumes, it's rewarding to me. Making something that you can't just go out and buy.

Oh and I STILL need to get our yearly family portraits done. We've done it every year and it's tradition. We usually do them around Sept./Oct. so I need to get my butt in gear. Hubs never looks forward to it. Every other year I make all three of us wear the same color shirts. Hubs hates it! But I think it looks neat. This year though is the year we don't have to match, so it won't seem so bad to him.

I've been working on Christmas to. Well, actually since about July. This past weekend I bought a gift for my nephew. And I'm still working on the homemade items to. I think I may have mentioned it in a previous post, but anyway...forgive my memory and laziness. I have finished a few fast projects. Like I said...I enjoy making things and it's rewarding.

Happy Tuesday Everyone...

Had a nice weekend. Hubs went to the lakehouse with friend Sat. so it was just Hunt and I. And hubs came back Sun. We hung out with great friend Steph and ate some lunch and did a little shopping. Then later that evening it was off to dinner with another great friend Kel. Then back home, bath time and I even let Hunt stay up late to watch a movie with me. It was really a nice day...and weekend.

Monday I did end up skipping yoga so that Hunt and I could take a trip to the zoo. It was a gorgeous day. I think we saw EVERY animal there. I opted not to take the stroller or wagon in hopes that Hunt would be able to walk the whole time. Well, it was a good choice...Hunt did superb! He got a little tired towards the end, but did great! He kept saying a like going to the zoo! We also rode the little YellowRose train there at the zoo. We were both pretty tired once we got home.

Today Hunt had physical therapy. He hadn't been in about 2 months. His therapist did a little evaluation and said that he looked good. His shoe inserts still fit good(or at least for 3 to 6 more months...unless he has a growth spurt). We go back again in December. So now I can go and get Hunt new shoes. I've been needing to get him some for months, but have been kinda waiting to see what the PT visit would hold. Hunt also got his yearly flu vaccine. I was sort of dreading it. But...we went in and they did it so fast that he didn't have a chance to cry or even think about crying. I told him what a big boy he was and he was all smiles. So afterwards we went for ice cream. It went as good as can be!

4 more...days...until we leave for va-ca!!! YEA!!! I've got several tasks to do before we leave, but am confident that I will get them completed in time.

Tomorrow is yoga and I hope it goes easily. I've had a pain in my neck/upper back area today. Not sure what I did...maybe slept wrong... I've also got to make a run to the grocery store, maybe couple of stores to and the cleaners. This will knock off a few of my tasks to get done before Sat.

my silly little monkey boy...

"are we driving on the sidewalk"?...asked Hunt today as we leave the drive-thru a Grandy's this evening. "No silly...we aren't on the sidewalk" I say. I guess since the drive way and parking lot was narrow it appeared to him that we were on a sidewalk. Kiddos are so funny sometimes. This morning he was standing on his bed and pushed the wall with his index finger and proceeded to lower himself down while bending his knees. Then he said "number 3". I asked him what he was doing and he replied..."going on the elevator"! He's such a cutie! I know...he's mine so I must be partial...true, but he really is a cutie! He hardly ever meets a stranger(which might not be such a good thing). He's always telling people hi and asking their names. He has such an outgoing personality and almost always cheerful and happy. People tell me this all the time. This past May while on vacation, an old woman walked by our table while we were eating dinner and said what a cute and handsome boy your are. Hunt just replied with "I'm a monkey boy to"! The older couple and their friends just laughed. Hunt smiled and laughed. I sometimes call him monkey boy, so I guess that's why he said that. A friend of the family often tells him that he's a nut. It's no wonder he keeps telling me he wants to be a clown for Halloween this year. It fits his attitude perfectly!T

Today we attending the KECPTA Fall Festival. Hunt had a blast! It was at a park in Keller. The group had several activities for the kids to do in addition to the park playground and sandbox. They rented a bounce house, had bubble wands, sidewalk chalk and did tattoos. Of course EVERYONE loved the snow cone! Someone brought a snow cone machine. I myself had to try several flavors! And Hunt loved them to. What a hit it was. The festival was for the group and as a membership drive as well. I think we acquired a couple of new members. Many seemed interested. The turn out from the group was good so it seemed to make others curious as to what was going on. The sign and banner that was out helped to. I took photos so I'll post them when I have them ready.

Let's see...next week's agenda goes something like this...Monday is my normal yoga day, it is also the KECPTA groups' zoo day. So I may just skip yoga so Hunt and I can visit the animals at the zoo. It was spring the last time we went, so a visit is due. Tuesday we normally try to hit the library for story time, but Hunt has a physical therapy appointment at 11:00am and then the wonderful yearly flu shot scheduled at 5:30pm. So that day will be just a bucket load of fun! Wednesday is yoga day for me again, so I need to be sure to go. Thursday is playgroup day. And Friday, well I'll be more than busy getting together our vacation junk. We'll leave for va-ca on Saturday morn. I don't really enjoy the day before we leave for a trip. It's always hectic and I'm SOOOO tired!

Speaking of tired...I'm kinda feeling that way now so I guess I'll close this post and chat later...

sea-shells...

Man... I've had a busy day. Hunt was a little stinker today and even Zoe was extra crazy. Was it a full moon or something??? I'm just glad to get to sit a spell and rest for a bit. So I've been thinking about va-ca(11 days by the way) this evening and was wondering...I have a terry cloth swim suit cover up/dress that is a mint green and I want to dye it a mocha color or navy. Anyway, I know there is that Rit dye out on the market...has anyone ever used this dye? Or ever dyed some type of clothing before? I read the Rit web site and got a little info out of that, but was wondering if anyone had actually used it. I'm scared, but really want to give it a try. Just curious... I don't want the dress to turn out a disaster, but would much rather have it in a darker color. Maybe even a black.
Good news...hubs emailed our vacation destination-Port Aranasas to see how the hurricane effected everything down that way. And it seems that pretty much all is a go! There was some beach erosion and board walk repair to be done, but YEA!!!! at least that's one worry off our chests! I bet the beach will be a mess still from all the debris that got washed up. Sometimes the beach has a lot of seaweed and sometimes they keep it clean. Not sure why that is. I hope it's not too bad. One of my favorite things to do at the beach is collecting sea shells and making things from them when I get home. I know it sounds boring, but I like it. Earlier this year a friend and I found a entire sand dollar intact. I've never found a whole one before. You always find broken ones, but never whole ones. I've made a cool mirror with some sea shells I collected and added a few that I purchased to. I'll have to post a pic to show you guys. It actually looks pretty good. I want to make a few pic frames and maybe a large cross. The mirror I did was done on nude wood and a type of grout. It's messy, but fun.
Next year I'm trying to talk hubs into taking us to somewhere different for va-ca. Maybe another beach. I'd like to go to South Carolina or maybe Florida. I think I've heard that either one of them has good beaches. I can't wait until a couple more years when we can go on bigger trips like Disney World! Hunt will be older and can do more. We've talked about the 2 week trip where you go on a cruise and then to Disney World. I think you do a week on the ship and a week at Disney. It's been just before Hunt was born since we went on a big vacation. And several years since we've been on a cruise. I love traveling. I like to experience new things and see new sights. We've been to many places, even traveled practically to the other side of the world. On 3 cruises and numerous trips to the caribbean. The water down there is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! And we've had WAY TOO much fun! I can tell some pretty good stories...let me tell you!!!!! We have toned down a lot since Hunt was born...I guess it's a good thing. Who know what trouble we could have gotten into. And besides...Hunt is a lot of fun to! And being a mommy is SO MUCH more fulfilling!!!!!!

end of summer...boo hoo...

Hey...
Not much has been going on lately. Hubs was in classes last week so our usual schedule was off kilter. It was good though since he was there for dinner and in the evenings. I know he hated to get up at 5:30...or as he put it "the crack ass of dawn". It was nice. Hubs came home one day barley able to walk though. They did a type of training similar to the "red man"(suit) where each had a turn trying to fight off everyone ganging up on them one after another from different directions. He swung so much and all of that after running and other activities...he was SO SORE! I did however miss yoga since no one was here to watch Hunt. So I'm sure tomorrow's yoga will be...horrible, just peachy!

About 2 weeks until vacation! Yea! I just hope, since we are going to the coast again, that Port "A" will not have too much damage from huricane Ike. We looked at photos and it didn't seem too bad. Hubs wants to take Hunt fishing this time. And wants me to go to. Last time I went deep sea fishing I was sick the entire time. I feed the fish(with my vomit...i know gross, but true). Hubs said that this trip will only be about 4 hours and be in the bay, possibly at night. I'm just not so sure about this idea. Imagine this...us...some friends...and a three year old...at night from about 6pm to 10pm...on a boat...no where to go...and me possibly nauseated or even sick. IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A FUN PICTURE TO ME! I just know Hunt will be cranky tired and not interested in trying to help fish. All the while I'm trying to hold my cookies down and not puke! Lord help me now! And will the hurricane that just passed not too long ago, fishing might really stink! Like I said Lord help me now!

We brought the boat back from the lakehouse last weekend...boo hoo! It was time to winterize it and put it up until next spring! It looks like most of the lake fun is over until then. It seems like summer flew by this year. Oh I'm sure we'll make a few trips back. We'll probably go for New Years and maybe Christmas again I'm sure. Christmas there last year with our friends was really a fun time. I brought a small Christmas tree from home and we exchanged gifts one morning in our pj's. Good Times! And New Years has been celebrated at the lakehouse for several years now. We buy lots of fireworks again(remember July 4th)and set them off...as the freezing wind off the lake chills us to our bones! True we're all wrapped up in cloths, coats, and even blankets, but still BURRRRRRRR! Lucky we fix some hot toddy's to help us with the coldness.

Oh...Zoe turned one year this month(around the 3rd). HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOE!!!!!!!! Hunt and I sang her Happy Birthday. I told him that we'll do a birthday party for her on the day we got her, to celebrate, which will be Dec.3rd. We'll have to get her a doggy cake and maybe invite a few friends like Steph and Kelley to bring their doggies and go to the dog park(maybe). Weather permitting. Zoe is still a little SPAZZ!

Playgroup is going well. Hunt loves to attend and play with other kiddos. It's just hard to get him to leave when it's time to go. Ugh!!! At least he enjoys it.

Oh my goodness...i have to tell ya'll this...
About 3 or 4 weeks ago this Friday Robert got home early and Hunt and I had not eaten yet, so I decided to go to Taco Bueno to pick up a fast dinner. When I got there the line was long and cars were hanging out in the driveway street area. They were blocking traffic. I was about 7th in line to order. I was behind a Jeep Cherokee. Because the line was hanging out in the street, I got as close to the Jeep as I could WITH OUT HITTING IT!!! Well it became apparent after being in the line a while that the lady in the jeep was not too happy about me being SO close to her. Geez...it's not like we were on a road and driving. I would not have been so close if that were the case. Anyway just before she got to the window she turned around and kept looking back at me. I guess thinking that I would be scared of her and back off a little. Which by the way only made me mad. LOOK LADY I WAS DOING IT only BECAUSE OF THE CARS BEING IN THE ROAD!!!!! So, she finally got her chance to pull up to the window. I could tell she was upset because she was telling the drive thru window worker something and waving her hands around. I just kept thinking...LADY GET A GRIP!!!! WELLLLLL....the employee gave her her change and the BITCH...WHORE...and many many other names...threw her change at me!!!! The front of my Tahoe was being hit by pennies, dimes, nickles, etc.....OMFG!!!!! I just sat there for a few seconds after this happened in disbelivement as she drove out of the drive thru. THEN, I was like...HELL NO!!! This bitch was not going to get away with this without me doing something! Good God...just picture her skinny left arm raising up out the window and change flying towards me! I was SOOOOOO pissed off that I drove right thru the drive thru right after her. I didn't even get our dinner. I followered her for a couple of miles back through roads, houses, around a church and onto the hwy for a ways. She tried several times to loose me, but I'm TOO GOOD for that. I keep right on after her. Finally while I was on the hwy I was able to pull up beside her and slow down...rolling down my window and asking her what the HELL she wanted to do. And what was she going to do! The heffer didn't even look over at me. I spead up and she didn't even follow. She stayed right where she was. I took the next exit off the hwy and headed back to Taco Bueno. I hope I scared the HOLY SHIT out of her! I could have been a maniac with a gun! But I wasn't...I was just a maniac...no gun! Anyway I got my food(which they still had sitting there in the bag) and headed home. I was SO mad that I was shaking and ready to hit something! If I had an older truck or something I would have rammed it up the back of her jeep. I did, in all the rampage, get her license plate #.
And got her address....Oh and here a few days ago I sent her a little something through the mail....A piece of paper with her license plate # and taped to it was a taco bueno flyer name and several pennies, dimes and nickles!!!! HAHAHA>>>BITCH!!!!!
DON'T EVER MESS WITH ME!

On a brighter note...today(wed.Aug.27) I had a great yoga workout. We did a few more of the HOLY CRAP yoga poses and transitions. This was the name my instructor,Julie, gave them because they work many muscles all at once. It was good though. I love my yoga time!

And a side note...the last blog...was started on July 14, notice I just finished it on Aug 27. Am I bad or what?!

September 2nd
Oh I found out today that I'm going to be an aunt again. Hubs's brother and sister in law are having another kiddo. Not sure how far along they are...since I found out through her MYSPACE page. What a way to find out huh???... Oh well. My cousin Julie in MS is pregnant and due any day now. She's having a boy. And we have some good friends with a little boy almost 7 months old. Oh babies... it will make me want one. I do want another, but I just want to spend as much one on one time with Hunt as I can. He'll be going to Pre-School next year and then Kindergarden and so on. I'll miss him. Plus I wanted one kid out of dipers before another one comes along. But 3 years apart would be great. He's just so perfect...then again I'm partial because he's mine...

I also found out that my uncle died back on Aug. 10th. We weren't close and it had been sooo many years( i can't even remember)since I had even seen him. I'm not sure if he had been sick or what. He was 68. There wasn't much info in the obituary notice. I guess no one knew my phone number to tell me. I havn't spoke to my cousins on that side in a while. I saw one at Walmart almost 3 years ago and did give her my cell number and told her my home phone was the same as it's always been. I never got a call from anybody. It said that the service was private, but I would have at least sent flowers or something.

We had a great weekend at the lakehouse. It was nice and relaxing. We didn't really do much...did some boating and swimming. Hunt LOVES it. He especially loves to jump off the back of the boat into the water. He does it over and over. I have to stop him so he can rest. Hunt and I came home last night. Hubs had to come home Sun. because he had to work Mon. Hunt enjoyed all the neighbors girls. He is SO girl crazy. Everytime he saw them he was like..."hey girls"(with a larger than life smile). They came over a few times and talked with him. Once Jordan(19) came over and he sat by her on the bench and held her hand and was just talking to her. What a little player! Each time the girls left he would hang his head and sometimes shake it side to side in saddness. He would go to the fence and just watch them. Kelley took him over next door to where they stayed and let him visit. When it was time to go she said..."come on Hunt it's time to go". He told her..."you go back over there and I stay here by myself". Little toot! I guess he didin't want a chaparon. I see trouble in the future with him and girls. He'll get his heart broke or break hearts...I can't tell which yet. Poor little guy...he just doesn't know...

Hello all...
I've finally made it back to blogger to do another post. I'm trying to do better and create frequent posts, but it seems I keep getting busy and buried under mommy duties.
Let's see... we had a SUPER 4th of July at the Lakehouse. We enjoyed spending time with friends and hanging out. The guys displayed another awesome firework show for us! I bet there was close to 40 people there to watch the show. We always buy alot and shoot them off. Even people across the lake and at nearby homes look forward to seeing them. We seem to get hoops and hollars from far off. Hunt even stayed up to enjoy them ALL. He was a little scared, but is doing better than last year.
We enjoyed steaks on the grill along with homemade mac and cheese and strawberry shortcake. I even made some of my cutie cookies(I'll post a pic). And got out the old ice cream maker and made a batch of homemade vanilla ice cream(courtesy of hub's great grandmother)and orange sherbet(also courtesy of great grandmother)...they were fabulous! I'm on FACEBOOK now to...only because I have all this free time...HAHAHA... to blog and email and upload pictures and tell stories...HAHAHA It's neat to see some of the family and friends on there to. Plus I have added tons of photos.
Hunt finished up swimming camp swim lessons. I'm debating whether or not in the fall signing him up for the once a week sessions. Just to keep up with the practice and plus the exercise will be good for his little body.



Hunt and I also had fun days at Chisholm Park Pool and Bedford Splash. He loves the water! Luckily we didn't end up with Crypto.....what ever it's called! There was a bit of a scare going around because people had gotten infected at different places like Burger's Lake and some other pool. I wish we could have gone more. It was a joy to see him having such a good time! I don't have all the pics from the water camera done yet, so these photos will come at a later date.

We've been spending every weekend that we can at the lakehouse. We've really enjoyed the boat and riding the tube and stuff this year. We've even had a Cajun boil one weekend there...YUM YUM!!!!! Check out the yumminess!

Hunt taking a shot at the crab legs...we got these cute little wooden mallets at a little crab boil place down by the coast called the Boiling Pot. The first time there was with hub's grandparents and we had the BEST TIME! WE MISS YOU GRANNY AND MICK!!!!

Hunt even got a turn at riding the tube this year...with mommy of course. He LOVED it! He especially like all the wake waves and bumps. Mommy on the other-hand didn't. Due to the fact that a 3 year old rump bouncing on my chins is no fun at all! But it was worth it. Hearing his little laughs made it worth while!

Zoe had to have surgery...poor baby girl! The stiching that they used for her spay BACK 5 MONTHS ago seem to have caused an infection. I guess her little body didn't like them. The vets say it's like one in a thousand or more that this happens to. Figures that our Zoe would be one of them. Anyway they cleaned her up good, cut out some infectious tissue and stapled her up. After the 3 meds and 2 weeks with healing and staples she's as good as new. And back to her old spaztic ways! Sad to say, but it was kind of nice when she was still sore from the surgery and not very active. But...I am glad that she feels better. Oh and we also got her a bark collar. I hated to do it, but at night she barks and barks and barks and barks and barks and barks....we were afraid that someone might eventually call the police due to the excessive noise. The collar has different levels(1 through 7 or so) and it seems that about #3 or #4 do the trick. It sends off a vibration for the first couple of barks, then after that the shock. Hopefully she'll learn and we can leave it off of her eventually.

I signed up for yoga classes the first of August and LOVE LOVE LOVE them! I don't really feel intimidated or shy at all. There are only about 5 of us in there and the teacher is super kind. I can tell that it's doing something for me because I sweet like a pig and have been sore most of the days afterwards. It's really been nice though.

I finished some baby goodies for my cousin in Mississippi. She's due in Sept. It took a little longer than I planned because of a certain 3 year old seeming always to need my attention. I could only work on them a little each night. I enjoy making things. There's a certain fulfilment you get out of handcrafting items for people. Sometimes I think it's way better than buying gifts. Although I know some people don't appreciate them.
I finished a quilt, made 2 bib and burp cloth sets, made a door knob name and photo hanger and a matching wooden pull horse, a snuggle blanket bear and a name picture. I also threw in a few books and a toy.


Hunt had a FIRST again...I took him bowling for the first time this month. He had a really good time. We went with the KECPTA. I snagged a few shots while trying to teach him what I know about the sport...which isn't much at all. I've only been bowling like twice or maybe three times my whole life.

We start the playgroups up again this August the 28th. I only hope we can make it to them. The one that Hunt is signed up for are on Thursdays 9:30. That is usually his therapy day, but therapy has been moved back to about every 6 weeks so I'm sure it will all work out ok. Hunt loves to interact with the other kiddos and he needs the stimulation to. Being home with mommy all the time, though way COOL, can still get boring for a 3 year old! Hard to believe, but true. Plus I get to spend a little time with ADULTs (other mommies) to. It's a win win.

Let's see what else...
We're planning another va-ca in October. We'll be heading back to Port "A" for a week of relaxation. Good friends Kelley and Ken are coming again to. It's nice to have another couple to spend time with.

So I've been asking Hunt what he wants to be for Halloween this year and have gotten several different ideas. None have been the same. Here's what he's come up with...a buffalo, elephant, rhino(year before last's costume), giraffe...
I guess I'll just come up with one for him...after all how much longer can I be the one to pick out his costume?????? I'm guessing another year or so. Last year he was this...

...a lion...I made the costume. It turned out pretty good I thought. SOOOOO I'm wanting to make his again this year. Which is the reason I've been trying to get ideas out of him this early. It will take me a bit to decide and then make a costume so I need as much time as possible. I've thought about a zebra or toucan. They are a little different than the norm. I like to do something a little offbeat or at least homemade. One that you can't go pick up at the store or that looks unique. In the past he's been a lion, rhino and humpty dumpty. I did purchase the rhino and humpty costumes. They were both simply too cute to pass up. We've always gotten fantastic comments on all of his Halloween outfits.

I've also started on Christmas gifts. I'm making several homemade things again this year.
